I Wonder What % of the Original "Probiotic" Bacteria Survive On the Shelf At 1,15,30.60 Days, At Room Temperature?

I seem to recall something a while back more or less most of these 'probiotic' bacterial supplements, what few survive the trip through the stomach, only being able to transiently colonize the intestines formerly they're beaten out by the flora actually living there and adapted to that environment. Cannot for the energy of me remember the source though.

While this may very ably be a "scam", I'm not so sure that it is completely out of the realm of possibility. For example, one ingredient is lactobacillus acidophilus, which can very easily grow and survive at room warmth, and even at pH levels below 4 or 5. Not sure if they survive in stomach acid, but I'm guessing perchance they do, or at least just long enough to net one "want to go". Just my two cents.
