Does a graph of Mortality rates of the Swine flu resemble that of the 1918 Spanish Flu(a W)or the average U?
A U shape graph as is normal for epidemics indicates a higher death rate among the outstandingly young & the very old. A W shape graph indicates a 3rd pinnacle in the middle indicating a higher death rate among infantile adults. One theory suggest this peak is due to deaths cause by the strong reaction (ie higher fever) to this illness of this age ranges increased imperviousness.
