My wife be prescribed 40 vials of Bravelle but we merely needed to use 5.?
Should we be able to get a refund from the over prescription. Each vial be $43, so we overpaid by $1300. What are your opinions?
Answers:
From what I have read, this drug seems to be one that isn't used that normally, and (if you have prescription insurance) your insurance probably didn't pay much if any.
It depends on what state laws are. Some states will not allow patients to return drugs to the pharmacy after it have left the building. Since 40 was the quantity prescribed by the doctor, I would speak with the doctor first and make sure that he/she doesn't want you to use all 40 vials. If you own already done that then I would call the pharmacy (talk to a pharmacist), tell them what the situation is and ask them what can be done to achieve you a refund if anything. Also make sure that you have not open any of the vials that you did not use, this might increase your chances of getting the refund. Hope that helps! Source(s): Work within a pharmacy
Unfortunately, once a medication leaves the Pharmacy it can't be returned and redispensed. It can, however, be returned for proper disposal but no refund will be given. Source(s): Pharmacist
