Hours of a private practice Neurosurgeon?

I hear that many ER physicians and Hospitalists work one week-on and one week-off.

Do you think it is possible for a neurosurgeon to work a week-on and a week-off in a private practice? How do you surmise it will affect the practice?
Answers:
Chuckle, chuckle.

No, I've never heard of such a schedule for ANY neurosurgeon.

Operating days, 6am to 6pm or more.
Office days, 7:30 to 6 or so.

Then there's being on ring up..... Source(s): surgical PA
