Do the generic form of a drug work as ably as the brand autograph?
I was just prescribed antidepressants (Remeron) and the generic form is available, but I always try to receive the brand name because I just feel better roughly it. Are there any reasons why I shouldn't get the generic form? My doctor didn't vote anything about the generic...

If the drug is produced chemically, it is mostly identical. The difference is the binder used to make the actually pill because that is to say not required to be the same. Generics are not necessarily the same as the brand name drug. While the busy compound is the same, the fillers and dyes can be different which can affect absorption of the medication. Thus the actual drug even in the blood can vary as mcuh as 80% to 120% compared to the same dose of the brand entitle drug.
In most cases, this variance isn't a big deal and as such, pharmacies will automatically dispense the generic unless specifically told otherwise by the prescription. However in certain conditions, such as epilepsy, where on earth having a consistent level of the medication is the blood stream is a big deal, it can thing and a brand name drug may be preferred. In most cases the drugs are the same but not all. I have thyroid cancer many years ago and have been on synthyroid ever since. Since my TSH level have to be completely surpressed I can take ONLY the brand name Synthroid not the generic form since at hand is a tiny difference that impedes the supression.
In the US they must be exactly the same. If the Dr did not put down generic is ok, they may not have one on the other hand. The pharmasist can call and ask for them to fax over a new prescription for you, this is a service they do provide if you ask them too. It can add a few days of waiting to do that, the fastest route is to call the pharmacy ask if there is a generic, yes, then travel to your drs office ask it to be rewritten take them the old one, or if the pharm have it they will hold it, anyhow, not everything has a generic, but by law, if they do it is the same other

generic is exactly the same as a brand name product, just except it have the name! its like designer brands for examples. you can go shopping and fin nice sturdy clothes for one and the same price for something that looks the same and is designer. really theres no worries. i just get doesn`t matter what is there, generic or brand

nah the brand name is most of the time better i know from experience sad to right to be heard but that is why it always cost more the generic is not as concentrated as the brand name stuff it is cut beside bull crap that is unessacary but yet contains the active ingredients adequate to work same concepts drug dealers use on cocaine and stuff to rip folks off if you catch my drift legalized drug dealing is adjectives it is........

To become approved a generic must have the same live ingredient (chemical) as the brand name drug. Not only that, it must meet spot on criteria for FDA approval: it gets to the same site of action surrounded by the body as the brand name drug, it does this in the same amount of time as the brand nickname drug, and it has the exact same effect as the brand name drug.
That sounds like it is exactly matching to me. And if you look at the testing data, it is! It's not like the other poster described it as a designer knockoff, it's more similar to getting the designer clothes for sale. And often, the company that makes the brand christen also makes the generic, if that makes you more at ease. In reality, it is often the same batch of medication, simply put into generic-labeled bottles.

Generics are the very same chemical formula as the name brand origional. The drug companies would like relations to think otherwise though. A generic drug is the very same thing. They are made after the drug company loses the government grant on it. That's the only difference.

The doctor usually assumes you will get the generic because it is cheaper and many insurance companies will only settle up for the generic. If the doctor thought you needed the name brand he would have checked the little box on the prescription that says dispense as written or DAW. You should be fine near the generic but if you are worried talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
