Metformin Users and Alcohol?

today is my 21st birtthday. and im going to be going out tonight with friends. im on metformin 500mg twice a day. I dont have diabetis though. and i havent taken it surrounded by the last 5 days.. will i be okay to drink tonight?

( i plan on drinking quite a bit)

Have you had any side effects or feel anything out of the ordinary for not taking it for 5 days? Since it is used to regulate blood glucose levels, you may find yourself hyperglycemic if you fail to nick it religiously.

Also, taking too much alcohol with metformin may lead to a fatal bag of lactic acidosis. Even if you have not taken it for 5 days. If you still want to take alcohol, do it in moderation, a short time ago to be able to avoid lactic acidosis.
Metformin is usually a daily medicine, I do not know why you are taking it but it is best to bring every day, and it is not to be taken with alcohol. If you do not plan on taking it for a while, you know your diagnosis and it is up to your judgement.
