I'm just wondering, with all the technology to preserve a brain dead person alive can continuing the pregnancy possible?
If you dont mind guys, do you know any case approaching this existing?
LAST question: if your brain dead are your eyes already dilated even though your on life-support?
Answers:
The answer is 'NO'. Birth would be by 'C' section...
I would say that the pregnancy can continue, but birth is impossible. The muscles involved that push the babe out don't act of their own accord. It's not a hard-wired instinct or muscle memory for the female body to enjoy a baby. I know of no case existing, in which a brain late woman gave birth. I hope to God I never find out about one. Usually your eyes are dilated when you suffer trauma that causes brain plunder because most humans close their eyes to protect them. This is why doctors shine a pen-light into a comatose persons eyes. If they get a response then they aren't brain deceased. Proper response from eyes typically indicates brain activity because that means the brain still controls the body. I'm sure you know that in frothy your pupils get smaller to let in smaller amount light you don't suffer migraines every second of every day. Yes . The pregnancy can be continued if the patient is supported. However, it is repeatedly difficult to keep a brain dead person supported for an extended time as hemodynamic issues will usually ensue. That self said, there are cases where this support is continued for a significant time allowing maturation of the fetus. See link.
Pupil surrounded by brain dead patients are most commonly mid-position though dilation is possible. Source(s): http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/article…
