Could I still become a doctor if i haven't taken triple science, but single double science for GCSE?
I'm in year 10, but my school hasn't offered triple science, so i'm doing double science in the top set. I've also taken:
Maths
English
French
Geography
History
Religious Education
ICT (up to A grade)
I am within top sets for all subjects, and i'm predicted fairly high grades, none smaller number than A!
I really want to beome a doctor, but i'm not sure i'll be able to if i haven't taken triple science! Is this true, and if so what should i do about it?
Answers:
Yes. I became a doctor without Triple Science. Legally, a university can't demand it because it's not start to everyone, similar to the fact that universities can't demand further maths as a subject for like reason. Source(s): Personal experience
I only did double science and i got into Medicine, it really doesn't matter. So it's not true that they lift onlt triple science people.
As long as you show the right grades in your A levels for Biology and Chemistry (A's) later you will have a good shot.
Last i checked you need at lowest 7-8 A*'s - B's at GCSE.
All the best.
To answer california's grill, they live in the UK. In the UK, and Ireland, you don't need to do an under-grad degree up to that time med school.
What country are you in? In the US you need a BS or a BA and exceed the MCAT with a fairly high ranking. Then you apply to med school.
If you pass the MCAT, but your degree is contained by history, theoretically you can still get in depending on your GPA.
Dont worry i know society who want to be a doctor who took double award . They are doing as levels with me now, honestly, as long as you work easier said than done at A level you will be fine. And you can always do extra reading, there are some great internet sites out at hand. What you could also do is find out what syllabus you are doing (eg AQA Edexcell OCR (thats all i know :S)) and get the syllabus for triple science and find out what u will miss and then of late do some reading on it, but trust me, when year 12 comes u will have probably forgotten all your GCSE stuff anyway and you will re-learn any stuff you need to know at A-level.
Doing tripple science solitary gives people a slight advantage, but if self a doctor is really what you want to do, you wont let double award hold you back
good luck beside your exams xxx
Yes, GCSEs mean very little by the time you obtain to university; it's the A-levels that really matter. If you are getting As then you are doing fine.
