What is the difference MRI and MRA?
Can someone explain the difference to me,between both of these? Is there a reason why you would need both? Thank you.

You won't find a difference at adjectives while you're being scanned, however the protocols are very different. In a regular MRI we're looking at the anatomy and anything that could be going wrong (as mass, a bleed, etc.).
With Magnetic Resonance Angiography, we're using special sequences (either time of flight or phase contrast) contained by order to look as blood flow through vessels. Using MRA, we can suppress all the stuff contained by the background and get images of the blood vessel, so in the case of an MRI/MRA of the brain, the MRA portion will examine the blood as it's moving through the blood vessels surrounded by the brain (we can set it up to look at both arteries and veins, i.e. arteriography & venography).
