Would blood work be final inside a week?

I got my blood drawn a week ago to get general test done, just because I hadn't done it before. I'm guessing if there be anything wrong I would have heard by now, right?

That be last Tuesday, now it's Tuesday again...

Or does it sometimes take longer?
Answers:
It really depends on what you have done. In my office blood work is usually back in 3-4 days but if you have a lipid panel included that takes about a week. You also have to remember if the department is very busy it could take a couple more days for the doctor to actually review your results. If it's bothering you, you should basically give them a call. I had blood tests done and the results took about 4-5 days to get hold of back. It could take longer though.
