Taking Seroquel, is this symptom middle-of-the-road?

So I started taking a Patient Starter pack of Seroquel 2 nights ago that my doctor gave me when I told him I was jumpy ALL the time. The package includes four pills, a 50mg tablet, 100mg, 200mg and finally a 300mg tablet which I take in writ for 4 nights.
Well, I took the 50mg the other night and didn't notice anything except that I slept through the undamaged night, which usually doesn't happen. But last dark I took the 100mg, and about 20 or 30 minutes later I was on my computer and I only just started getting really sleepy. It picked up pretty fast; my heart started to pound hard and fast and I a short time ago felt like I was sinking, only a terrible feeling. It got even worse so I get up (I'm not sure what I intended to do) and just fell on the couch. Heart was pounding even harder, I actually thought I might die. I didn't want to call upon 911 or anything because I was thinking maybe this is normal and it would be stupid to travel through that whole ordeal and to find that out. So I went upstairs (the feeling seem to get worse while moving around or standing I might add) to go to go to bed thinking I could sleep it stale. Well, I did, though I woke up several times because my legs felt restless. Woke up about an hour ago and everything is fine. I'm just worried going on for tonight when I have to double the dose that I took last night...
Anyway, I'm only curious if those are indeed "normal" symptoms or anything you all have experienced.

Thanks in mortgage! =)

Seroquel is an extremely sedating antipsychotic. It's a bit tricky though. It seems to be more sedating at lower doses. It eventually reaches a point where the effects reverse, so it is plausible that while you slept fine on 50mg, the higher dosages made you agitated. This happened to me when I increased my dosage. I have never hear of Seroquel to be used for anxiety/nervousness by itself, perhaps in adjunct beside another medication. It is usually used at low dosages (25-50mg) for insomnia and very high dosages (up to 800mg) for schizophernia and dementia.

Just a tip: Don't plan on being competent to do anything after 30 minutes to an hour after taking it. As you saw, it literally shuts down your brain!! Best to be in bed or else you'll end up everywhere you land!
I am on it as well and I know that it does make you sleepy because it relaxes you, but as for the rest, I'm not too sure so I would ask your doctor.
powerfully with my experience with seroquel i was on it for mood stablization the smaller amount i took the easier it knocked me out use to be on 25 mg tablets and they halved that dose it was 12.5 mg and be still knocking me out at 50 mg it still made me drowsy and 100 mg it worked for a while no over sleeping problems any more or under sleeping i believe increased anxienty was a side affect but it shouldnt be anything after normal Source(s): use to take it though it affects everyone differently
