go to the doctor tomorrow
Put on your most comfortable clothes, take home yourself a mug of tea, listen to your favorite music and just breathe. A few deep breaths will add needed oxygen to your brain and soon you will have a feeling better. Seriously.
You mentioned you were taking Lexapro; Did you by any kismet stop taking your Lexapro or miss a dose? Some people can experience moderate to severe withdrawal symptoms from SSRi meds. (I know this b/c I am one of them.)Are you taking anything besides that?
Vertigo can be caused by several different things. Meniere's Disease is one of the reason. It is an inner ear problem that some believe is caused by a virus.
I would advise going to your doctor and telling him/her what is going on. If you can, it would be valuable to keep a diary of what your symptoms are on a daily basis, what you comings and goings were, etc. in the days leading up to your appt. If you don't take the answer you are looking for from your doctor or you don't feel better in a reasonable amt. of time, run back again or seek a second opinion.
