What is the clinical significance of peculiar color, odor and specific gravity and transparency of urine?
Answers:
Urine is normally pale straw yellow to amber within color. A very dilute urine will be almost clear. Blood in the urine may indicate infection or tumor along the urinary tract - bladder, prostate, kidney; or a kidney stone. A cola colored urine may indicate nephritis. Certain dyes used to color hair can be wrapped up thru the skin and impart a brown color to the urine. And so forth. The urine may be cloudy from the "alkaline tide" after a meal. A drop of HCl clears it up instantly. If not, there may be protein in the urine.
You enjoy to get up close and personal to become familiar with the everyday odor of fresh urine. Left to age in an open jar for a day or two and it become quite pungent. The odor of a urinary tract infection is somewhat different. Certain foods impart an odor, especially asparagus, but the ability to detect it is apparently genetic.
Specific gravity varies depending on state of hydration. If a party can concentrate urine above 1.025 with an overnight fast, kidney disease is highly unlikely (early cancer excepted). A annoying urine specific gravity of 1.010 is an indicator of serious renal disease. A persistent very dilute urine around 1.001 suggests diabetes insipidus, usually a problem of the pituitary or hypothalamus.
The urine is a valuable exam. I attended a clinical-pathological conference yesterday, and the urine results were not given on the protocol. I'm probably too old to become king of the world, but if I do, this will be a capital crime. Source(s): Falstaff: What say the doctor to my water? (my urine)

Not sure what exactly you're looking for contained by an answer, but I'll do my best to answer. Urine can be a good indicator of what's going on in the body. Sweet smelling urine can indicate diabetes, while foul smelling odor, cloudy urine can indicate infection. Dark colored urine, like brown tinted, can indicate that in attendance is a urinary tract or kidney infection present, or the possible presence of blood. Urine can also indicate how hydrated a person is. If a person is dehydrated urine have a stronger smell and darker color to it. If a person's urine appears abnormal it is a good indication something is rotten within the body and it can be tested to find the presence of blood, white cells, etc. Hope that answers your question for you. OK, NOT VERY SURE WHAT U R ASKING?
My peditrition told me that your color of urin depends on the condition of your urin tracts....which is the kidney, bladder etc....... it also depends (color) on how much u drink....it does...for example, try drinking 2-4 bottles of water in one day after pee...the color will be lighter or darker depending on ur motablisim level....then drink the commonplace level of water.....6-9 bottles of water.........same piece just deppends.
