Chances of survival contained by a coma?

What are the chances of survival in a coma.

A friend from elementry school, get in a car crash, and now is surrounded by a coma. It sucks because I haven't talked to him until last year in highschool.

I be aware of sick to my stomach right now.

I don't know really anything about his condition as of right now.

Is at hand atleast a slight chance at living?
