Shall I study tablets or music?? aid!?
I currently am at a music school in UK, but I've always required to study medicine. I'm half way through my triple science for biology and chemistry and I hold a single science in physics. I've been getting a's and a*'s in these, but I'm still unsure because I also get a* for my gcse music...I'm taking chemistry, music and biology/english lit for A level and I'm not sure what to do... I have always really needed to study medicine, yet I have spent so much of my energy doing music. My mum wanted me to be a musician, but I was always too afraid to let somebody know her that I didn't really want to do it...now that she died I would feel sooo bad if I lately gave up music to do medicine... what should I do...? and am I taking the right a levels?

Medicine will probably turn into a more lucrative craft, but follow your heart. Do what YOU want to do, not what your mom wants you to do. Or maybe don't give up music altogether - try to do both. Less music (but still preserve doing it) and more medicine.
I significantly doubt your mum would be disappointed if you pursued medicine. There is no reason why you can't do music on the side. Your mum would have fully supported you within anyway cause your her daughter. Ask yourself this... wouldn't your mum's greatest wish be that your happy?
In your covering, I would think ahead. Being a musician is a wonderful profession. It is very relaxing, fun, and entertaining. I know this because I play the piano and when I come home from work I love to play the piano after a long day. However, it depends on how successful of a musician you are. If you are no prodigy within any manner or don't truly believe that you can be successful with being a musician, I would not do it.
Medicine serves as a great profession. It is exciting, inspiring, and stimulating. I think that you should never give up music, especially being that you want to step to music school. However, I would do both. I would have a profession in the medical grazing land and on your free time really try to excel as much as you can in music. Have the music serve as a source of entertainment and not a profession.

I agree with the two folks above me. Don't do something out of guilt for your mom o that you've been doing it for so many years. You want to go into medication, so do it. In fact, you can have a side job as a musician. I close-fisted let's face it - musicians don't make a lot of money, and it's completely hard to become a successful musician, and a doctor makes a fair amount of money - depends on what you do. So money perceptive, medecine. You want to do medicine, so do medicine. The only unenthusiastic of medecine is that it takes a long time.
